11月8日ー13日に掛けて同カンファレンスが行われ、11日ケニア拠点教授である井上真吾教授が「Development and evaluation of point of care tests for Rift Valley Fever diagnosis」のタイトルにて発表を行われました。NUITM-KEMRI projectのスタッフ、インターン生の計5名も参加し、各自研究プロジェクトの成果発表としてポスタープレゼンテーションを行いました。8日-10日にはワークショップが行われ、同スタッフらが参加し、care diagnostics, molecular diagnostics, flow cytometry, malaria research and diagnosticsに関する理論と実践を学ぶ機会も同時に得られました。また、Mbita HDSSサイトを中心に活動されている金子明先生（大阪市立大学）も参加されており、「An integrated strategy for sustainable
freedom from malaria」のタイトルにて現在進行中のSATREPSのプロジェクトに係る発表も行われました。参加者は海外からの招聘者を含み、計200名以上が参加される大規模な学会となり、研究の成果発表に加え、活発な議論とワークショップなどの実践が行われる大変貴重な機会となりました。
