On August 25 ,2025 JICA-NUITM travelled to Nagasaki University with the aim of;

- Interaction with the University students and staff, including international students.
JICA -NUITM staff successfully gave a presentations on the ongoing grassroots project.
Specifically, we explained tungiasis and introduced the project background, Objectives, Main activities, results, Good practices. We also shared the results of the baseline survey (2021) and the endline survey (2025), showing that the project achieved over 95% effectiveness in reducing tungiasis in the target communities. Afterwards, there was an interactive and educational question-and-answer session. The seminar was attended by Nagasaki University students and staff, including Prof. Kamiya and other professors.
Prof. Kamiya also guided us around the campus and made courtesy visits to other offices, including the Institute of Tropical Medicine. Finally, JICA-NUITM staff prepared Kenyan cuisine for lunch, which everyone enjoyed together. For some participants, it was the first time eating with their hands. Through this experience, the lunch became an opportunity not only to enjoy food but also to share culture and strengthen mutual understanding.
