On the 22nd of July 2025, Mr. Hiroshi Matsuura, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary, Embassy of Japan in Kenya visited the Kenya Research Station, Nagasaki University at Nairobi together with Ms. Yume Yorita, and Mr. Atsutomo Noto, second secretary of the Embassy of Japan in Kenya.

Prof Shingo INOUE, the chief representative of Kenya Research Station presented the history of Kenya Research Station and current activies regarding the collaborative research with the institution in Kenya and the educational and capacity development project regarding JICA-PREPARE, JICA-TCTP (Third Country Training Program) and the exchange study program with the academic institutions in Kenya, and the site visit for the Laboratory in Kenya research station including the P3 laboratory.

Mr. Hiroshi Matsuura, Ambassador, Embassy of Japan in Kenya expressed great interest in the Nagasaki University’s colloaboration with JICA and Kenya and other institutions in Kenya regarding the achievement of educational and research project and the global network with Eastern Africa countries.
