JICA-NUITM and the Ministry of Health organized CHP sector meetings across Ndhiwa and Suba-South. This year’s sector meetings involved all CHPs across all Community Units in both sub-counties.
These meetings were held between 1st April and 5th May 2025 in Community Health Promoters’ (CHPs) respective link facilities with their supervisors, Community Health Assistants (CHAs), at their respective Health Facilities.

The main Objectives for these meetings were;
- Share JICA-NUITM activities through the newsletter
- Confirm the gaps between the monthly Tungiasis reports submitted by the sub-county and the cases reported by CHPs
- Discuss the Endline tools (Assessment Form and Household Log)
- Conduct a post-test on the identification, treatment, and prevention of Tungiasis
- Share score sheet results highlighting the best-performing CUs over the past five years
- Check the availability of “NYDA” (the recommended treatment for Tungiasis previously distributed) in selected health facilities
- Discuss the dates for the next dialogue and action days per Community Unit
- Conduct a comparison of the MOH 705 and the outpatient record
During these meetings, JICA-NUITM identified the following cases that still existed among the CHPs.
Ndhiwa -8 severe cases in 6 CUs, i.e, Kawere(1), Kachwanya (a whole family), Kadhola (2), Kachuth (1), Kochieng (1), South Kabura (1).
Suba-South -Kisaku (7),Seka (5 ).
Challenges
JICA-NUITM was not able to conduct a comparison of MOH 705 (KHIS) and the outpatient record because the system was shut down.
Conclusion
The sector meeting was successful, and all scheduled CU meetings went well.
The MoH was very Cooperative, and the attendance was good too.
