Welcome!!

Core Message

Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) remain a serious public health challenge, particularly in African countries. Overcoming these diseases requires not only advances in medicine and science but also comprehensive and sustainable approaches rooted in local needs.

This event aims to bring together a wide range of stakeholders—including academic institutions, pharmaceutical companies, policymakers, and the younger generation—to promote co-creation with Africa through cross-sector and intergenerational collaboration.

Experts and practitioners from Japan and abroad will share practical case studies and engage in discussions on current challenges and future perspectives related to NTDs.

Within the international framework of TICAD9, this event will serve as an opportunity to reaffirm Japan’s role and approach to international cooperation, opening the door to new partnerships in the fight against NTDs.

Objectives

  1. To clarify Japan’s international contributions to tackling NTDs in Africa
  2. To present a model for advancing global health that engages the younger generation
  3. To strengthen frameworks for public-private collaboration, leveraging the opportunity of TICAD9
  4. To promote networking among speakers and participants and lay the groundwork for future collaboration
