Features
Trypanosoma cruzi was cultured with mouse fibroblasts as feeder layer cells. Amastigotes that were small and no flagella, proliferated in infected fibroblasts. Trypomasitgote had a long flagellum. In both stages nucleus and kinetoplast were stained heavily with Giemsa’s staining solution, and observed as large and small spot, respectively. Trypanosoma cruzi causes Chagas disease. Bar indicated as 20 μm.
