JICA – SATREPS Team led by Prof Shinjiro Hamano, Department of Parasitology, Institute of Tropical Medicine, Nagasaki University launched the project and did the Kick-Off Meeting at KEMRI titled “Project for Integrated Research and Development towards Control and Elimination of Schistosomiasis”. This is the five-year project from August 2023 to August 2028. The target field is in Mbita and Kwale, Kenya. After the meeting, the team visited the field for both Mbita and Kwale, and discussed with the local partners such as the Ministry of Health in Hombay and Kwale County.
