Nagasaki University, Institute of Tropical Medicine, Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases is recruiting researchers who would like to join and participate in the department’s clinical-epidemiological field work and laboratory research activities in Vietnam and Japan.

Job title

Assistant Professor or Research Fellow positions for a two or four-year term.

Under the AMED (Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development) program, our department is conducting emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases researches in Vietnam. We are currently recruiting researchers who have experience in microbiology or molecular biology or epidemiology to conduct laboratory-based research and/or field epidemiology research activities and participate in our research activities in Japan and Vietnam.

Salary

To be paid under the Pay Regulation of Nagasaki University.

Job description

The appointees will be staffs of Department of Pediatric Infectious Diseases, Institute of Tropical Medicine (NEKKEN), Nagasaki University who can engage in emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases researches in Vietnam. The appointee can station at NEKKEN or Nagasaki University field research office/laboratory at Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang, Vietnam.

The researcher will also be encouraged and supported to conduct his/her own research projects.

Qualifications

  • The applicants must have good English communication skill to work with international research collaborators involved in the projects.
  • Applicant for Researcher (laboratory based) must have a PhD degree with laboratory experience in clinical and molecular microbiology.
  • Applicant who are interested in field epidemiology must have a PhD in clinical epidemiology or public health, preferably with a MD background.

Commencement date

The commencement date can be flexible/negotiable.
