JICA grassroots project thought it wise to continue with phase 2 and upscale the jigger training to other Homa Bay sub-counties upon realizing the progressive reduction of jigger cases in the Ndhiwa and Suba-south sub-counties.
With this in mind, JICA-NUITM began conducting cascade training in other sub-counties of Homa Bay as phase 1 and now phase 2, the last one after conducting all the training successfully.
The main aim of conducting these trainings is to map out and eradicate any existing jigger cases in Homa Bay County as more emphasis is put on WASH activities.
The cascade training targeted public health officers, community health assistants, and sub-county officers as trainers.
