Geographic Information System (GIS) and Remote Sensing (RS) identify environmental factors that correlate with the distribution of malaria and its mosquito vectors. In this study, the source of the 1:250,000 topographic maps in both raster and vector forms covering the study provinces of Aurora (located in the northeastern part of the Philippines), Zamboanga del Sur, Sarangani, Sultan Kudarat and Davao del Sur (located in the island of Mindanao) was the National Mapping and Resource Information Authority.
