Human samples and privacy

Interviews and questionnaire surveys are conducted in this project. Human blood is also collected. These activities have been approved by the ethics committee of the Institute of Tropical Medicine, Nagasaki University. In Vietnam, NIMPE and the local government authorities overseeing activities in the Khanh Phu area have also approved the malaria research program on-going there.

When a new survey is designed, we will submit the appropriate application to the ethical committee.

Animal ethics

Khanh Phu Malaria Reseach Unit has already obtained the approval for using monkeys from the appropriate overseeing agencies.

Recombinant DNA experiments

When we need to clone the genes of E. coli, we will submit an application for approval in each related institution.
